Renewable Energy Developer

Location: Poland (hybrid: remote + Warsaw) | Travel: 15-20% (Poland) | Contract: B2B (flexible)

The Opportunity

Stora Energy is expanding its development platform in Poland and is looking for a BESS / RES Development Manager to drive grid-scale battery and hybrid renewable projects from early-stage origination to Ready-to-Build (RTB).

This role offers high ownership and visibility. You will work closely with Stora’s international team and external partners, combining on-the-ground development work (land/stakeholders) with disciplined project management and investment readiness in one of Europe’s fastest-growing BESS markets.

What You’ll Do

• Develop grid-scale BESS and hybrid RES projects in Poland from early stage to Ready-to-Build (RTB)

• Lead key development workstreams, including: land acquisition, permitting and environmental processes, technical studies, construction and cable routing permits, grid connection processes and coordination

• Manage and maintain project documentation to ensure readiness for investment and transactions

• Engage and manage stakeholders, including municipalities, public authorities, landowners, utilities, DSOs/TSOs, and service providers

• Coordinate and supervise external partners and co-developers to ensure pace, quality, and compliance

• Support commercial and investment readiness through project economics, risk assessments, and internal materials

• Represent Stora in external meetings and help build long-term relationships across the market

Who We’re Looking For

We’re hiring for quality, ownership, and execution capability.

Must have:

• 5+ years of experience in project development (BESS, RES, infrastructure, real estate, or similar); ideal range: 5–15 years

• Strong understanding of Polish permitting and grid-connection realities, or the ability to learn quickly

• Structured, proactive, and independent working style; comfortable in a remote, fast-moving environment

• Willingness to travel within Poland (typically ca. 20%)

• Fluency in Polish (C2) and English (B2/C1)
